The Kado Family Adventure (Day 4: Nara)
| Day 4 Okaasan invited us to have breakfast in a nearby Soba restaurant. I wasn't that hungry but, as we know, the hunger arises while eating... Then, Okaasan took us to the hospital where she volonteers, to have a clayfighting with the obaachan and ojiisan that spend the day over there. The language barrier was important, but we made ourselves understood...![]() Okaasan is a clay modeling master, and all her friends seem to do some craft: paper dolls, fabric dolls, sculpture, painting, etc... After the time with the viejitos, we went straight to Nara, first crossing Osaka city...![]() In Nara, 37 degrees welcomed us... it was really hot, like Ecuador... The first target was the Garden of Unbelivable Quietnesshood (I forgot the real name), a place containing ancient tea rooms and my favorite vegetable: moss (en cristiano: musgo) Que calorsh!!!!!!!! Moss relaxation...![]() Inmediately we moved to the Toudai-ji area... This place should be called the Garden of the 10,000 Deers, because there are almost as many deers as visitors... I was attacked by angry deers and one of them had my arse bitten... The Toudai-ji was just imponent! and inside, the great Buddha! The Buddha weights 500 tons, but He Himself needs some help to protect Japan. That's why He has the company of 2 protecting gods (or demons, not sure)...![]() ![]() ![]() We continued walking in the complex, admiring buildings and encountering deers all around...![]() ![]() By the way, deers are like goats, they eat anything! In Ecuador, we have dogs outside the stores... here we saw deers! After a light lunch, we moved then to Koufuku-ji, to see the famous 5 storied pagoda. The pagoda layers apparently mean Hearth, Fire, Water, Wind and Sky. Not sure about the order... Emiko had a sudden hatred rage and attacked me in front of the sacred building... The sun shined beautifully on the temple's roof... As usual, plenty of deers...![]() We tried to visit the museum, but was already closed (5 PM)... So we had a rest, surrounded by countless deers... ![]() ![]() This deer was trying to step into a shop, and then came to me to smell my armpit...![]() Time to return home, and again, some teammembers started to underperform... I almost forgot to say, to be fair, that I fell sleep almost all the way to Nara... Back home, we went to have a sushi dinner outside, invitation of Nobuo-san. ども、すみません。![]() Lots and lots of varied sushi... oishikatta!![]() ![]() To return home, and in the purest Ecuadorian style, all of us stucked in Otousan's taxi. Andy is like 15 Kg heavier than me, but I rised him to demonstrate my genkiness! For Emiko, however, was easy to rise Kyouko-chan... Okaasan had a nice dessert for us: ice cream! Very interesting, the ice cream of a certain flavor comes inside the fruit that provides the flavor... And finally, I fell in my futon, and rested... |
